Atypical GERD Chronic Cough
Also known as “chronic cough”, it can defined as a cough with a duration of greater than three weeks. In many cases, chronic cough is associated with GERD

Refractory Gastroesophageal Reflux
Patients who experience refractory GERD usually fall into one of two groups:Those who need more aggressive treatment and those who have other causes of their reflux symptoms. Learn More.

Crohn’s Disease
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It causes inflammation of the lining of your digestive tract, which can lead to abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss and malnutrition.

Ulcerative Colitis
Ulcerative colitis can be debilitating and sometimes can lead to life-threatening complications. While it has no known cure, treatment can greatly reduce signs and symptoms of the disease and even bring about long-term remission.

Neurogastroenterology
encompasses the study of the brain, the gut, and their interactions with relevance to the understanding and management of gastrointestinal motility and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Refractory Constipation
Current therapies may fail in a proportion of patients. These patients deserve better evaluation and thorough investigations before their labeling as refractory to treatment.

Fecal incontinence
Fecal incontinence is the inability to control bowel movements, causing stool (feces) to leak unexpectedly from the rectum. Also called bowel incontinence, fecal incontinence ranges from an occasional leakage of stool while passing gas to a complete loss of bowel control.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease
Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are a group of chronic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract that affect over 1.6 million Americans. The two major illnesses that are recognized most often as inflammatory bowel disease are ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.

Intractable Constipation
Intractable constipation is a major colon motility disorder. This prolonged constipation does not resolve with dietary changes or other simple therapeutic measures. Causes vary, but intractable constipation may be caused by several factors:

Anorectal Manometry
Anorectal manometry is a test that evaluates bowel function in patients with constipation or stool leakage. It is done on an outpatient basis with mild discomfort.

Biofeedback
Biofeedback can play an important role in retraining the anal sphincter or pelvic floor muscles. Biofeedback is often effective for treating pelvic floor dyssynergia or other forms of intractable constipation, by retraining muscles to relax during evacuation and to contract at appropriate times.

Laryngeal Pharyngeal Reflex
Refers to retrograde flow of gastric contents to the upper aero-digestive tract, which causes a variety of symptoms, such as cough, hoarseness, and wheezing, among others.
